Ottawa Tourism

Ottawa tourism is important to the city's economy since it generates billions of dollars each year. So why do 7 million people a year visit Ottawa? Well, let's just say that this city is one of the cleanest and best places to live in Canada. Not only that, Ottawa has a quiet charm that draws people in from far and wide. It is a modern city that has all of the amenities and attractions of a large metropolitan area without all of the business, hassle and confusion.

When tourists visit Ottawa tourism they will experience a great city that moves at a even pace. One of the first things that tourist should do is visit Parliament Hill. This is the government district of the nation and this area of the town has plenty to offer tourists. As a matter of fact nearly 3 million people come to visit this area every year.

Visitors can tour the government buildings and if they are lucky enough they can catch a nightly light show during the spring and summer months.

 Rideau Canal

The Rideau Canal is another popular feature of Ottawa and it is a large water way that tourist can use to travel through the city. In the wintertime this canal transforms into an ice skating rink. The National Gallery of Museum, Bytown Museum and Canadian's Agricultural Museum are three great places to see classical artwork and great exhibits. Tourists often walk through Majors Hills Park or they can visit Centre point Theatre to take in a show.

The ByWard Market is a place with two personalities. During the day it is occupied by artists, farmers and shop owners but during the night the place is taken over by bar hoppers, clubbers and people who love to dance and party. ByWard Market has plenty of clubs and bars to keep people entertained well into the early morning hours. The Casino du Lac-Leamy is a well-known casino arena for tourists. Visitors can also check out Rideau Falls which is not as glamorous as Niagara Falls but it is worth viewing.

Popular local restaurants such as Johnny Farina, Play Food and Wine and Beckta Dining and Wine. Most tourists can find a really good restaurant by taking a trip down Murray Street. Amusement parks such as Calypso Theme Waterpark, Epic Bike Park and Midway Family Fun Park are also available for tourists as well.

People are always looking for things to fill the time, engage their attention, and give them the chance to build some pretty nice memories in the bargain. And if you can do all of those things, and not have to pay a dime, then what’s stopping you from seeing what’s out there?

You can easily find things to do for free. It’s just a matter of knowing what your options are, and imagining what you’re going to enjoy doing the most.
 Free Things To do

Free Things To Do

If you’re going to equate free with boring or pointless, then that’s a thought you really should make an effort to change.

The truth of the matter is that if you live in a large enough area, there are always things you can do that aren’t going to cost you anything. And even if you live in a smaller area, you always have options like parks and free museums. Figure out what’s always going on that doesn’t charge anything in the way of admission. Make a list of these things. You can use a little online research to help you to compile such a list.

 Fun With Kids
And more likely than not, you’re going to have a list of things to do for free that’s certain to have something that will appeal to you specifically. And what about special events, outdoor concerts, and other items of similar interest? If you do a little digging, you’re certainly going to have an excellent chance of finding things along those lines that are going on during that particular weekend. Many of these events are free, as you’re going to discover. Just consider what you might want to do, and try to have something of an open mind. When you take both of those things to heart, you won’t have to struggle very hard to find something fun to do.

Keep in mind that free events in your area might be seasonal. Typically, the calendar for these sorts of things is the most packed during the spring and summer months. However, free events generally abound throughout the course of the entire year. Do a little research, and consider the possibility of taking a chance on something you wouldn’t normally do.

Have a willingness to surprise yourself.
