Things To Do On A Sunday In Ontario

Whether you are a resident of Ontario or if you are visiting this wonderful province, there are an abundance of activities to take advantage of.  Regardless of if you are looking for family friendly activities or something to do with your significant other, there is a recreational event perfect for everyone.  Below is a list of some great things to do on a Sunday in Ontario.

Visit The CN Tower

Located at 301 Front St West in downtown Toronto, the CN tower is an attraction that is famed around the world.  As a national icon and engineering spectacle, enjoy the ability to take in the spectacular views and even experience the see-through glass floor.  The CN tower has recently updated their activities, now offering a 3D theatre, elevator rides, and fine or casual dining.

Taking in Nature

Another great activity that you can partake in on a Sunday is to fully immerse yourself in nature at the Hamilton Halton Brant Nature Unexpected.  Whether you are interested in paddling down the Heritage River or even if you want to go on a hike down the longest and oldest footpath in the entirety of Canada, the options are relatively endless.  You can visit over 100 different waterfalls throughout the Niagara Escarpment.

Helicopter Tours

The majority of cities in Ontario offer helicopter tours so you will want to find a company that is closest to you.  1000 Islands Helicopter Tours in Gananoque, Ontario, are one of the most famed helicopter companies that offer three different tours.  The 1000 Islands are one of the most renowned attractions in Ontario and with the help of a helicopter tour, you can get a beautiful and breathtaking aerial view of the islands.

Bonnechere Caves

Located in Eganville, Ontario, the Bonnechere Caves are only 80 minutes away from Ottawa.  These caves are over 500 million years old and are still an incredibly beautiful sight to see.  Bring your family to experience pure nature with the limestone walls and hanging stalactites throughout the entire cave.  This adventure is perfect for every person who wants to experience history and a fun time simultaneously.

Sunday Matinees

For the families that are looking for a more laid-back way to enjoy their Sunday afternoon, consider catching a film at a local movie theatre.  There are thousands of different cinemas open throughout Sunday and it is a great way to have fun with the family without having to spend an ample amount of money.

Random Things To Do In Ontario

At times, you don’t want to have preset plans for a weekend or you don’t want to plan a holiday from start to finish. There are moments or days when you simply want some random things to do. There are days when you suddenly decide to watch a movie. There are evenings when you don’t have plans to go out but you suddenly decide to hit the pubs. From shopping to eating out, you don’t necessarily need to have a routine or a very well etched out plan every time. It is better to engage in some random things to do in Ontario, once in a while.
Whether you live in the province or you have come here for a holiday, if you are wondering what kind of random things you can do, then here is a brief guide.

Have you ever considered walking to an event or attending a festival without any prior planning or knowledge? You can do this in Ontario. If you visit Ottawa or if you are living in the capital city then you must know that throughout the year, there is some event or the other, especially in the downtown areas and in the shopping districts. Ottawa is known as the city of celebration and you will always find something or the other to interest you or to keep you hooked up for a while. You can visit such places, on any odd day without any preconceived perception or plan and you may just have a great time which you will remember.

Among the most common random things to do in Ontario is to head out of your home or hotel and to check out the city you are in. Whether you are in south-western Ontario or in Toronto, there are many sites for you to explore. You don’t really need a car or a precise itinerary. You can simply head out, equipped with a map or GPS and you can explore the city. You may explore more this way than what you will remember with planned tours.

While you can try out any kind of random things to do in Ontario, it will be wise to have a tool or a guide with you. For instance, if you wish to know about events in real time then you need an event calendar or a list of events at all places in the province. In such cases, you can get help at http://www.summerfunguide.ca/events.php. The site has all the information you need, especially for some random things to do.

Outdoor Activities For Kids In Ontario

For a considerable part of the year, kids cannot really head outdoors and have the desired fun. Like the grownups, the kids too are contained in stringent routines, partly because of the weather. The only time the kids can head outdoor activities without much anxiety for the parents is during the summer months. There are some outdoor activities for kids during the winters but there are far too few. It is during the summer when kids can have a gala time, regardless of which part of Ontario you are in.

·

One of the most favourite outdoor activities for kids is aquatic fun. Kids love water, most of them. They may not have been very fond of getting bathed during winter or when they were younger but as they grow up, they will fall in love with the slides, the rides, the waves and the pools. Ontario is one province in Canada that has no dearth of places where your kids can splash in some aquatic fun. Head to any of the amusement parks or water parks and let your kids run wild. Let them have all the fun they want and you wouldn’t really have to plan their activities. The parks have enough outdoor activities for kids which can relieve you of any responsibility to be the planner.

·
Kids love zoos, museums, aquariums and sanctuaries. During the summer months, you should take your kids to any of these places or several of them. There are many zoos and aquariums in Ontario. You can opt for an African Lion Safari or a Donkey Sanctuary, you can have your kids play with the dolphins or you can take a ride to one of the many aquariums to have your kids see the wonderful creatures of the seas. There are bird parks and butterfly sanctuaries in Ontario which are some amazing fun for kids and for adults. These sanctuaries will allow your kids to learn about birds and butterflies and they can indulge in several outdoor activities as well.
·       Among the more demanding outdoor activities for kids is hiking or hitting a trail. If your kids don’t mind some adventure and a little bit of exercise then you can take them to one of the many trails in the province.

You can find all such places and numerous other avenues of outdoor activities for kids at http://www.summerfunguide.ca/.

Things to Do in Summer to Escape the Heat!

Summer time
Summer is a time for fun in the sun, for relaxing at the beach and enjoying your well-earned time off from work and from school. The summer heat is a welcome relief from the chill of winter, but what about when it gets too hot outside? Should you scrap your plans for a great summer vacation and just stay indoors? Even on the warmest days, there are plenty of things to do in summer to escape the heat and make the most of your holidays. Check out these three great ideas!
Visit a water park.
What better way to enjoy the sun and stay cool than to spend all day at a water park, relaxing in the pool and shooting down a water slide? Water parks are a perfect choice for families because they offer something for everyone no matter their age, and you can easily spend all day in the water and never get bored. They’re a perfect way to keep comfortable on even the hottest of summer days!

Try a boat tour.
When clipping along the water on a guided boat tour, it’s easy to stay cool. You can enjoy a nice breeze in your hair and the mist from the water also helps to keep you comfortable. You need to still pack your sunscreen to protect your skin, but a boat tour is a great choice for staying cool while not missing any outdoor adventure.
Check out a winery or microbrewery.

One of the best things to do in summer to escape the heat is visit a winery or microbrewery. This type of tour usually offers the best of both worlds, as you may get to tour the outside vineyard for a winery or see the equipment used to make a favorite microbrew, while still heading inside to cool off and enjoy a refreshing drink. Vineyards are also typically cooler than other areas during the summer as they are usually built in valleys or on hillsides that are out of the direct sun, and larger vineyards offer plenty of shade.
Keep these ideas in mind this summer when planning your next vacation. Don’t let summer’s heat keep you inside or stop you from enjoying a great a great trip in and around the Ontario area. There is much to see and do and lots of activities that will keep you cool and comfortable, so be sure you get out and enjoy the summer sun this vacation season!
