Fun Activities For Kids

There is nothing more stressful than kids when they get bored. One thing that will never change is that when kids get bored, there is a greater chance of them causing mischief and the last thing you want is to have to explain to the neighbor why their cat, Mr. Fluffykins, is now as bald as an eagle. So save yourself the hassle and keep the kids entertained.

 Fun With Kids

When In Doubt, Take Them Out

The easiest way to keep the kids out of trouble is to take them someplace fun. There are so many fun activities for kids and the family. Waterloo Region Museum & Doon Heritage Village is a perfect combination of educational and entertaining. See how life was like back in the early 20th Century. See adorable farm animals, or investigate historical mysteries at the museum. If you want something more ferocious then check out the African Lion Safari in Hamilton. See exotic animals first hand from the safety of your own car or hop on one of the tour buses for an information filled adventure.

 Watching Movie

Lights, Camera, Action

The movies have always been a good fall back to entertain the kids. If you are tired of watching the same Disney movie over and over why not take everyone to the theater. Some popcorn, a cold drink, and the latest kids flick can quiet the screaming horde for a while. Not up for dragging everyone out? Pop up some popcorn at home and put on an old classic that the kinds haven’t seen. Some of the older kid’s movies may not be the usual Disney fare that your kids watch all the time but a little bit of a change up can’t hurt.

 Mini Golf

Four!

Mini-golf is fun for all ages. From the goofy holes, to the colorful balls what isn’t to enjoy. Many mini-golf courses also offer a lot more activities than just 18 holes of fun. Timber Creek Mini Golf & Family Fun Centre for example has not one but two mini-golf courses plus batting cages and more for hours of family fun. Or check out Wasaga 500 Go-Karts where you can keep everything under par and enjoy life in the fast lane with their exciting and adrenaline pumping go kart track.

Memories To Last A Life Time

Kids grow up too fast so having fun and exciting family moments is what it’s all about. So start making memories today.

The hardest part is finding some fun things to do with kids will enjoy while not causing you to tear your own hair out. Let’s face it, you can always go to the movies and see the tenth sequel about a singing snowman or some other unnecessarily cute animal but where is the fun in that? Sticky floors, crying babies, overpriced food, and those weird teenagers that sneak in half way through the movie and sit in the back making peculiar noises; you can do better than that.

Why not try something a little bit different. Many museums have special events just for kids. While the kids are having fun and learning about history, you can explore the museum yourself.  If museums are too dusty for you then check out a historical village like Pickering Museum Village in Greenwood, Ontario. Want something a little more exciting? A trip to the zoo is always a sure bet. Where else can you see exotic animals up close and personal. Some zoos even have special events daily to entertain you and the kids with daring feats or awe inspiring spectaculars. Also check out the zoos wetter brother, the aquarium. Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in Toronto for example has many great activities year round so you can have a nice day at the aquarium while its freezing outside.

 Ski & Sledding Locations

Speaking of cold weather, if your family is more on the adventures side check out some of the great ski and sledding locations in your area. If you enjoy a bit more adrenaline rush then stay warm indoors at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Toronto. Eat, laugh, and cheer as you watch knights battle for control of the realm.

Of course what is winter fun without a bit of summer fun. Enjoying a nice day at the beach may sound good to you but instead why not try Adventure Village in Hamilton. Mini-golf, Go-karts, even laser tag. If you want something a bit more outdoorsy there are plenty of natural parks for all your camping, fishing and hiking needs.

Enjoy this vacation with your family, finding things to do with kids.
