Toronto Events

There are plenty of events inside of Toronto that are fun and exciting for people to do. Many businesses and organizations constantly sponsor local events for people to enjoy. There are international events such as the Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan American Games that help to draw tourists from all over the world. People should not forget about the local events such as the Summerliscious and Winterliscious food festivals that take place each year. Local events also help to make Toronto a special place to be. The following information is about some of the biggest events that tourists and Torontonians can both enjoy.
 Toronto In Winter

Winter Events

For the sake of simplicity, winter month events will last from October to March. During this time in Toronto many yearly events takes place. One event that is really popular is the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. This is a half marathon and 5K mile run race. This marathon is considered an elite racing event in North America and athletes from all over the world compete.

The Toronto Santa Claus parade takes place in November and it is an extremely popular wintertime event that is broadcast to different countries all over the world. The Cavalcade of Lights is a big winter festival in Toronto that officially starts the holiday season. Winterliscious is a big food festival that take place in Toronto each year. Only select restaurants can participate in this event. The Canadian International Auto Show is Canada's premiere auto show event that draws in over 300,000 spectators from all over the world. The St. Patrick's Day Parade takes place is March and it is one of the biggest of its kind.

 Toronto Events In Summer

Summer Events

These particular events typically take place between April and September. Starting in April the Sporting Life 10K run takes place and so does the documentary film making festival known as Hot Docs. Toronto Fashion Week is also popular during this time of the year. In May the Anime North event takes place and so does Science Rendezvous. The Luminato festival takes place in June and so does the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival.

During the month of July people can attend the Fringe Festival which is all about the theater. They can also enjoy Brickfete which is a Lego building convention. The Fan Expo, Canadian National Exhibition (The Ex) and Danforth are all festivals that take place in August.

Remember that the nation of Canada has big holidays such as Christmas, Canada's Day and New Years. Each of these holidays typically provide locals and tourist with extra events to do. The fireworks in Toronto on Canada Day are exceptionally good and the New Years Eve celebration in Nathan Phillips Square is a fantastic place for people to attend if they happen to be in this city on this special day.
